NSW Broadband Taskforce
The NSW Broadband Taskforce is a cross-government and industry leadership body to facilitate the delivery and realise the benefits of broadband in NSW. The Taskforce oversees key elements of broadband delivery including:
- commercial arrangements for broadband providers to access state-owned land, transport and utility assets;
- skills training and education for the technicians and engineers needed to support the rollout of broadband in NSW;
- investigating and developing new applications and services that can be enabled through broadband networks;
- showcasing broadband technologies and services, both in terms of the opportunities broadband provides to organisations and individuals and the potential for innovation that exists in NSW.
NSW Broadband Taskforce members
The Taskforce has representatives from Government, industry and Australia’s leading research institutions, including:
- Department of Finance and Services (DFS) (Director General is Chair)

- Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services
- Land and Property Information
- Department of Planning & Infrastructure
- Department of Health
- Department of Education and Communities
- NSW Chief Scientist and Scientific Engineer
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Australian Telecommunications Users Group
- National Information and Communications Technology Australia (NICTA)
- Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO)
- Communications, Electrical and Plumbing Union (CEPU).
